Since 1996, Eagles' Nest has been the only daycare center in Gilpin County. Located on the Gilpin County School campus, our mission is to provide the highest quality of care to our county's youngest residents and foster a love of learning that will stay with them throughout their entire lives.
This past year at Eagles' Nest has been one of tremendous growth and many positive changes. Everyone involved with the center, from the board members to the director to the staff, have worked tirelessly to cultivate a supportive, inclusive culture so that we are providing a safe, fun learning environment for our children.
One of our greatest accomplishments this year was being awarded a Colorado Shines Level 3 accreditation for the center. To earn this prestigious rating, our center passed rigorous inspections in areas including workforce qualifications, family partnerships, administration, learning environment, and child health. The award shows us that we are succeeding in our goals to provide high quality preparation for kindergarten.
The board of directors was also very excited to be able to work towards providing a living wage to our staff members, as well as better healthcare coverage. We are passionate about providing the best working environment for our team, the majority of which are Gilpin County residents. We believe that the happiness and wellbeing of our staff is a critical factor in their ability to give our children the best care possible.
We have big plans for moving Eagles’ Nest even closer to our goals. We will continue to provide scholarships to our staff members so that they can attend continuing education courses that teach them the techniques and skills they need to provide our children with the best education possible. We will also begin planning renovation of our center’s playgrounds. This is a massive project that will including the placement of new play structures, garden beds, and shade structures.
A large part of our mission is to keep high quality early childhood care and education affordable for the parents in our community. To achieve this this, we strive to keep our tuition as low as possible. Being a non-profit means that we rely heavily upon grants and the generosity of donors.
With all of this in mind and the end of the year right around the corner, I wanted to ask for your help. Donations are an important part of our budget each year. I am asking you to consider a donation to our center. As a non-profit, your donation will be tax deductible. We are also able to provide Tax Credit Forms, which will enable you to take advantage of the Child Tax Credit. Any amount that you are able to contribute is truly appreciated and will help us sustain our dedication to Gilpin County’s children.
Please feel free to contact me or Kayla Lowe, Eagles’ Nest’s Director. Thank you so much for your consideration!
